My wine cooler is not holding temperature.
Usually a fan or thermostat rather than the sealed system, which is the good news. We establish whether it is a compressor or thermoelectric unit first, because the two fail in completely different ways.
How much will it cost?
It depends on which part failed. The service visit is free with any repair and $80 otherwise, and you get the full price before any work starts. If it turns out to be something simple we sort it out there and then, covered by the same $80.
One zone is cold and the other is warm.
Dual-zone units have separate fans, dampers and controls, so a warm zone rarely means the whole unit is failing. We diagnose the zones independently, and you are not paying to fix the half that works.
Do you repair built-in and undercounter units?
Yes. They come out of the cabinetry and go back flush, without damage to the surround, which is the part most companies would rather avoid.
There is condensation inside and my labels are getting damaged.
That is usually the door seal or a blocked drain. Worth fixing quickly: humidity ruins labels long before it does anything to the wine itself.
It runs constantly and never switches off.
Normally a dirty condenser or a failing door seal making it work against a constant heat leak. Both are inexpensive, and leaving it running non-stop is what eventually kills the compressor.
Is it worth repairing a wine cooler?
For a built-in, almost always, because replacement means matching the cabinet opening. For a small freestanding unit it depends on what failed, and we will tell you honestly.
My unit is thermoelectric rather than a compressor. Do you work on those?
Yes. They are quieter and simpler but more sensitive to room temperature, and a thermoelectric cooler in a hot garage may be working exactly as designed. We will tell you if that is what is happening.
How long does it take?
Most are finished in one visit. Fans, thermostats and seals are on the van; a board for a high-end built-in may need ordering, and we say so at the quote.
What warranty do I get?
Our labor carries 90 days on every completed repair, and original manufacturer (OEM) parts carry a full year. We tell you which parts are going in before you approve the work.
